It’s been a spectacular half term for extra curricular activities, too many to mention in my blog but they have all been mentioned via the CHS Twitter account . Some notable highlights include Senior Football and Rugby results, the debating team and two of our former students obtaining the highest marks in A Level History and in A Level Welsh in Wales. A remarkable achievement by all.
As promised in my last blog, we are emailing information out this week regarding fundraising for our new facilities. Thanks once again for the very generous donations we have received. However, we are not quite there yet!
It was very interesting to note Huw Lewis’ speech this week where he re-ordered the educational priorities for Wales with a huge focus on the issue of pupil deprivation. This will have implications for all of us as we plan our school improvement. I am very proud of our record of achievement in recent years with all groups of learners and I welcome this initiative.
We have had a provisional date of 6 December 2013 for the handover of the new building and facilities and more details will follow as we consider how we will negotiate this move. Exciting times lie ahead.
