With the spring weather comes the final push for Years 11, 12 and 13 in preparation for their exams. It was hugely disappointing to note the results of the GCSE English exams last week and I can assure all parents and students that the school is making its position on this very clear to the Welsh Government and the WJEC. The school has also been extremely proactive in terms of resits, remarks and preparation for the summer exams.
Hopefully, all parents will have now received the Year 11 revision timetable and in the coming weeks there will be news regarding study leave and Easter revision sessions. It is important that we now all remain upbeat and positive as I am extremely confident that our students will perform exceptionally this summer.
Meanwhile, sporting prowess in school goes from strength to strength as our Y11 Football beat Olchfa 4-1 to reach the semi-finals of the Welsh Schools Cup and our Senior Rugby team beat Bassaleg to reach the semi-finals of the Welsh National Vase Competition.
This week also saw Ciara Horne in school to support Sport your Trainers and the Commonwealth Games. Cardiff High School was only one of 5 schools in Wales selected and hopefully you saw us on ITV this week. Hopefully you saw the article in Echo
