It is hard to believe that 8 weeks have passed since the start of term.  As is always the case, it has been exciting, challenging and lots of hard work from pupils and staff.  Pupil attendance has been incredible this term and students should be looking forward to a well deserved break.  For some, the work will continue as Year 11 come into school for extra sessions to prepare for imminent exams – it will be worth it!

On Thursday 23 October, it was the Year 6 and Year 9 Open Evening.  An extraordinarily busy night in the school calendar, we were overwhelmed with interest from prospective parents and pleased with the feedback we received.  The school was praised for its welcoming environment and professionalism.

I must thank parents of the school who once again helped out providing refreshments and making new friends who also want to support the school.  An update on the Cardiff High School Partnership will follow before Christmas.

Finally, I had the pleasure of making a presentation to Huw Lewis, Minister for Education and Skills this week, regarding the exciting work that Cardiff High School is involved in this year.  As always, it is with pride that I am able to represent pupils, parents and staff and share in the excellent work of the school.
