HOME LEARNING TIMETABLE
Home Learning Timetable - What will happen in the event that a whole year group has to self-isolate
Dear Parents and Carers,
The purpose of this letter is to explain what will happen in the event that a pupil or a whole year group will have to self-isolate at home for a period of 14 days.
A full explanation of the process and procedures for maintaining pupils’ learning experiences during a period of self-isolation is provided in the accompanying webinar. We recommend that you watch webinar in full. Pupils have also watched a pupil-version of the webinar during their registration periods.
The webinar can be viewed via the link:
There are several key points within the webinar that we would like highlight:
If a pupil is self-isolating at home for a period of 14 days because someone in the household has tested positive for COIVD, then they should continue to follow their school timetable and access work from their subject Google Classroom pages
If a pupil is self-isolating for 14 days as part of a whole year group, then they will switch to their Home learning timetable
Home Learning Timetable
The Home Learning Timetable will match pupils’ normal timetable and lessons will take place at the same time as in a normal school day
The Home Learning Timetable will comprise 3 different types of lesson: live lessons, webinars and self-study periods
The Home Learning Timetable will begin 24 hours after a year group begins a 14 day period of self-isolation. Therefore, if a year group begins to self-isolate on a Tuesday of Week A, the home learning timetable will begin on Thursday of Week A
Pupils should log on to their Google Classroom to attend live lessons and watch webinars
Live lessons will be led by their teacher, and pupils will be expected to answer and ask questions as appropriate
Pupils and parents should familiarise themselves with the Standard Operating Procedures for live lessons
In line with Welsh Government guidance, live lessons will be recorded
A copy of the home learning timetable, by year group, accompanies this letter. Please refer to your child’s year group and form as necessary.
We are excited by the potential of the home learning timetable and our evolving approaches to blended learning. We believe that this model will help us to reduce the disruption to pupils’ learning in the event of any periods of self-isolation and maintain as far as possible the excellent learning experiences that our pupils receive.
