Filling in the UCAS Form
Whilst you cannot actually submit the form until September 8th you can use this time to complete the main bulk of the form and also to begin to work on your personal statement.

The above link will take you to a PowerPoint that provides a step-by-step process on how to fill in the form. There are also videos embedded within the PowerPoint where I have filled out the form myself so that you can see what you need to do.
Writing your Personal Statement
You can also begin to write your personal statement which is essentially an essay about why you want to study your chosen course and why you are a suitable candidate. In here you would detail any extra reading, MOOCs, work experience that you have undertaken in preparation for the course. Your appointed UCAS referee (announced by September) will check over your personal statement with you to make sure that it is the best that it can be. Do not be surprised if it takes you a number of drafts to get it right. I think the record is currently about 17 drafts!!!
Oxford and Cambridge Applicants
If you are applying to Oxbridge, then you need to make sure that you look at the Oxbridge booklet attached to see if there are any entrance exams that you need to complete. You will register for these with Mrs Walsh, the exams officer, in September. As you are on a much tighter deadline to get your applications submitted I will be your referee so please email me (nsj@cardiffhigh.co.uk) letting me know what course you are applying for and whether it is at Oxford or Cambridge.
Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Applicants
You should by now have told Nigel Jones that you are applying for one of these courses. If you have not done so then you need to do so now as he will issue you a booklet specifically aimed at these courses. You will be appointed either Mr Jones or Miss Isaac (or myself for those applying to Oxbridge) as your UCAS referee.
Conservetoire Applications for Music
If you are applying to study Music at a Conservatoire then you need to email me (nsj@cardiffhigh.co.uk) ASAP as your deadline for submission is even earlier!

It is a good idea to do as much research as possible about the courses at various universities. Remember that whilst physically visiting the universities may be on hold at present, a large number of them are offering virtual open days. I strongly recommend that you attend these.
