About Us

Cardiff High School is a large comprehensive school that is proud to serve our local community in the north of the city. Our mission, in line with our school motto of "Tua'r Golenu", is to provide a high quality learning experience for all, ensuring no pupil is left behind. We aspire to develop a love of learning and equip students with the knowledge, skills and experiences to enable them to thrive in society, regardless of their background or starting point. This is achieved through our core vision of "Learning Together". Our school ethos is ambitious and caring and is built around a strong partnership between staff, pupils, and parents and carers, working collaboratively to develop well rounded young people who are able to succeed in their aspirations and dreams.  We strive to be a highly effective learning organisation, driven by a moral purpose to serve our community, where reflection, learning, and continuous improvement are at the heart of our culture.

We see learning and teaching as our core business and are proud of our high standards in classroom provision. High expectations are built upon positive relationships and strong attitudes to learning, with a focus on mutual respect and tolerance. We embrace and celebrate our diverse school community and provide an inclusive and nurturing environment focused on strong wellbeing. The learning and wellbeing of our pupils and staff is supported through an outstanding pastoral and ALN team, and additional support structures such as our own nurture provision, our school counsellor, educational psychologist and behaviour specialists.

The school is unwavering in its commitment to create a vibrant school community enriched by trips and extra curricular opportunities. Our facilities on site include well equipped classrooms, specialist sports, music and drama facilities and access to technology.

The governors, leadership team and staff are committed to school improvement and as such Cardiff High School is a very high performing school. Our public examination outcomes are consistently strong and we are proud of the achievements of all of our pupils, who consistently make excellent progress and achieve outstanding results at both GCSE and A-level.
